    Monophonics- In Your Brain LP
The Monophonics definitely have a way of getting inside your brain – using a cosmic slop of fuzzy guitars and funky basslines to eat away your grey matter more than a maggot inside your cranium! Yet even past that heavy Funkadelic reference, they've also got a richer vibe too – elements of 60s psych mixed in with their funk – particularly in the way that the younger generation's been re-digging crates from the early 70s these days – especially some of the more farther-flung tracks from the global underground. There's slight Afro elements at times, garagey bits at others, and even some well-timed rhythms that help the whole thing have a good sense of focus – and save it from the overindulgence that toppled the hippie generation before they even got started. Titles include "Mirage", "Bang Bang", "Temptation", "In Your Brain", "Sure Is Funky", "There's A Riot Going On", "Say You Love Me", "They Don't Understand", and "Thinking Black".

The Minutemen- Double Nickels on The Dime LPx2
An early 80's punk rock classic on double LP.

The Minutemen- Buzz Or Howl Under The Influence Of Heat LP
Eight song mini album from 1983. More of their signature spazz/funk/punk.

Jeff The Brotherhood- Third Man Live 10-01-10 LP
Live recording of JEFF the Brotherhood performing during Next Big Nashville on October 1, 2010.

    Elliott Smith- XO LP
Finally back in stock after being MIA for over a year.

Hot Water Music- New What Next LP
New What Next's "Keep It Together" sounds like vintage Afghan Whigs, and maybe that's all you need to know about Hot Water Music's third Epitaph effort. The vets from the FLA have added a further postscript to their post-hardcore rumble, veering into a melodic yet slightly jaded maturity resembling that of Gentlemen-era Whigs. The Alkaline Trio's catchy, punky fatalism is another touchstone for what New What Next offers; Hot Water Music also provides a few satisfying holdovers from their early-2000s output.

She & Him- Volume 2 LP
Back in stock on vinyl with download.

    Velvet Underground- S/T LP
Their 3rd album from 1969 on blue vinyl.

Langhorne Slim- Be Set Free LP
Langhorne Slim started out as a solo act before he worked his way up to a pair of accompanists, but it would seem he's gotten over the whole notion of minimal accompaniment on his third full-length album, Be Set Free. Produced by Chris Funk of the Decemberists, Be Set Free features Langhorne and his usual sidekicks Jeff Ratner on bass and Malachi DeLorenzo on drums, but there's also a wealth of guest musicians, most notably Sam Kassirer on a variety of keyboards, Funk taking on a handful of fretted instruments, and a small battalion of backing vocalists, horn players, and string musicians. Be Set Free sounds significantly more polished than Langhorne's previous studio sessions, with the arrangements and additional accompanists bringing a range of dynamics to the melodies that wasn't quite there before (certainly not on this scale), but even though this album sounds like Cinemascope compared to the more modest framings of Langhorne's previous LPs, the additional colors and patterns have been artfully applied and they serve to add to the tenor of his tunes rather than distracting from them; if this album was conceived on a (relatively) grand scale, it's never overdone.

Gaslight Anthem- Sink Or Swim LP
Their debut album on colored vinyl.

    Sonic Youth- Murray Street LP
    Back in stock on vinyl.

    Sonic Youth- Sonic Nurse LPx2
    Back in stock on vinyl.

Guns & Roses- Appetite For Destruction LP
    Back in stock on vinyl.

    Windhand- S/T LP
"For the most part, Sabbathian doom bands stand out by only writing great songs because sonically it's damn near impossible to seperate yourself from the overcrowded genre. But there is something about Richmond's Windhand that makes them even more drugged-out and exceptional. The riffs sound like normal doom, but trapped in a mass of dark forest limbs, trying to hack their way towards the light while singer Dorthia Cottrell appears as a gloomy specter, wailing forlornly through the mire.

Face To Face- Don't Turn Away LP
1992. Considered by many fans to be a classic, this debut on Fat Wreck Chords (originally released on Doctor Strange, with only a few thousand copies shipped before the company went out of business) qualifies as a '90s punk must-have. The first (and by far the rawest) of three Face to Face recordings to include alt-rock radio mega-hit "Disconnected," this 13-track disc reveals a band on the brink of punk stardom. Don't Turn Away features original members Matt Riddle on bass, Rob Kurth on drums, and singer/guitarist Trevor Keith -- the one constant in what would become an ever-shifting lineup. Back in stock on vinyl.

    Evens- The Odds LP
The Evens are a band from Washington, DC. Ian MacKaye plays baritone guitar and Amy Farina plays drums. They both sing. The Odds is the band’s third full-length album - 13 songs recorded with Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios during the summer of 2012. The Evens began in fall of 2001 and released two albums, The Evens (2005) and Get Evens (2006) and a 7", Warble Factor b/w Timothy Wright (2011). The Odds is their first album in six years and they have plans to resume performing this fall.

Scott H. Biram- Bad Ingredients LP
'Bad Ingredients', SCOTT H. BIRAM's fourth full-length for Bloodshot Records, is a decidedly different record for those who have been following his road-driven career. Recorded at Biram's home studio in Austin, Texas and mastered by Jerry Tubb of Terra Nova Mastering (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam), 'Bad Ingredients' delivers SHB's classic throat-stomping style, but showcases a more mature songwriter - both lyrically and musically. It's Biram at his quietest, but don’t worry, Hiram Biram can still raise a riot. On 'Bad Ingredients', SHB maintains the blues-metal-country-punkrock but strengthens it with crack guitar playing and shrewdly crafted songwriting. Even when he's at his most quiet, it doesn't get any more real - or louder - than Scott H. Biram.

    Grimes- Visions LP
Visions arises as Grimes’ fourth release in less than two years. Incorporating influences as wide as Enya, TLC and Aphex Twin, drawing from genres like New Jack Swing, IDM, New Age, K-pop, industrial and glitch - this approach has marked Grimes as a curator of culture, allowing the project to remain flexible and evolving. Despite an upbeat demeanour, an urgency permeates the album. Calling between our history and the future, it uses the pleasure of minimal rhythms and dance to entice. Yet beyond its rich, software-sculpted cohesiveness and vocal energy, runs a very real and odd world. "Grimes could well be poised for a meteoric rise with the release of her next full length" - Pitchfork.

Refused- The Shape Of Punk To Come LPx2+DVD
Restock on double LP with bonus DVD.

Eric Burdon & The Greenhornes- S/T LP
Black Friday RSD release. A collaboration between 60's singer and cool garage rock band.

    Jose Gonzalez- Veneer LP
2005. Don't let the name fool you; singer/songwriter José González is a Swedish-born and -raised son of Argentine parents. His debut album, Veneer, is a striking collection of hushed and autumnal indie pop bedroom songs that reside on the hi-fi end of the lo-fi spectrum. González is definitely a member of the "quiet is the new loud" school as founded by Elliott Smith and the Kings of Convenience. Veneer is about as intimate as they come; it sounds like he is sitting right on the end of your bed singing just for you. At times, González is a little more forceful than most of his schoolmates, often working himself into a tightly spinning ball of emotion (as on the driving "Lovestain" and the bluesy "Hints"). At these moments his voice is reminiscent of Mark Kozelek, only without the wild flights of pretension. Mostly though, he is content to cruise along on mellow vocals double-tracked behind gently plucked and strummed acoustic guitars. The beautiful "Heartbeats," "Deadweight on Velveteen," and the gently rollicking "Stay in the Shade" are the high watermarks of a remarkably focused and promising debut. González is a welcome addition to the q-school of indie pop.

    Horrible Crows- Elsie LP
Red vinyl. Taking a short break from the Gaslight Anthem in early 2011, frontman Brian Fallon teamed up with guitar tech Ian Perkins to form the Horrible Crowes, an Americana side project named after the “Twa Corbies” folk ballad. Inspired by Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Mark Lanegan, the Horrible Crowes wrote slow-burning songs that were smokier and more stripped-down than the Gaslight Anthem’s punked-up anthems. “Behold the Hurricane" introduced the duo's sound during the summer of 2011, followed in September by the Elsie LP.
