    Flower Kings- Space Revolver CD
Sweden's The Flower Kings represent the finer elements of progressive rock as they artfully expound upon the early-'70s, much beloved British Canterbury Scene amid dashes of psychedelic rock and to a lesser extent, jazz fusion. With this 2000 release, the musicians continue their forward thinking ways, as they touch upon disparate elements amid complex arrangements and tenacious ensemble work along with the occasional nod to contemporary jazz, thanks to multi-instrumentalist Ulf Wallander's tasty soprano saxophone work.

    Flower Kings- Retroplis CD
Retropolis is the album that brought the Flower Kings from an interesting underground progressive rock band to an act that simply couldn't be ignored by anyone interested in the genre's 1990s revival. Roine Stolt and consorts' aim for Retropolis was to dive a little more into vintage progressive forms (retro) and, indeed, this album is the most nostalgic and closer-to-the-roots-sounding of the band's catalog. From the Pink Floyd-shaped "Rhythm of the Sea" to the poignant Yes-like hymn "There Is More to This World," the Flower Kings sound like they are paying tribute to the groups that brought them to do what they are doing, without ever falling into plagiarism or sacrificing the band's own identity. 1996.

Flower Kings- Back In The World Of Adventures CD
Roine Stolt's voice is strong, full, passionate, and delightfully accented. The Flower Kings' lyrics are heady, compelling, and hook city. The guitar work is extremely melodic and rates right up there with anything Brian May or David Gilmour has offered. Stolt is expertly meshed in this band with brother Michael on bass and voice. Tomas Bodin excels on Hammond organ, Mellotron, piano, and flute. Hans Bruniusson plays percussion alongside Jaime Salazar on drum kit, while Ulf Wallander guests on sax. The ten songs here are split between five instrumentals and five featuring great vocals mingled with extended instrumental bridges and a variety of sonic excursions.

    Jimmy Dawkins- Fast Fingers CD
First released in 1969, after guitarist Jimmy Dawkins had served a long apprenticeship as a sideman in the Chicago electric blues scene, Fast Fingers remains one of the finest pure electric blues albums of its era. Dawkins proves to be a solid songwriter and an able singer, although the best moments on the album invariably come when he tears off a casually perfect, deeply soulful, but never showy electric solo.

Ty Segall & Mikal Cronin- Reverse Shark Attack CD+LP
First time on CD; vinyl includes digital download coupon. Originally released in 2009 as a vinyl-only title on the Kill Shaman label, Reverse Shark Attack is a collaboration by Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin, two longtime chums who grew up together in Laguna Beach. Both turned out to be hyper-prolific singer / songwriter / musicians who recorded as solo artists as well as performing in bands such as the Sic Alps, Moonhearts, Epsilons, Traditional Fools and Okie Dokie. Equal parts danceable garage rock and effects-ridden psychedelia, Reverse Shark Attack is a mind-blowing explosion of loud guitars, pounding rhythms and signature vocal harmonies, and these eight shambolic, psychedelic jams are sure to please the most scrutinizing rocker. The centerpiece of the album is the title track, a side-long epic that goes from Beatlesesque melody to psych / folk weirdness before exploding into a Ventures-induced headache of smashed drums and wildly vibrant surf guitars. It’s a must-have release for fans of these two artists, and nothing like either of them have done on their own.

    V/A- Rockabilly's Gravest Hits CDx3
A 3CD Boxset featuring 75 'Hard Hitting Rockabilly Classics'! As one of the earliest bearers of the 'live fast die young' ethic, rockabilly mixed the homeliness of country with swing, attitude and suggestive lyrics to create one of the first visible youth sub cultures predating the R'N'R movement that went on to conquer the world. This essential mix of melancholy tinged mayhem takes you through tales of Cadillacs, duck tails and teen romance. Johnny Burnette, Dale Hawkins, Jack Scott, Johnny Kidd, Carl Perkins, Scotty Moore Trio, Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Peanuts Wilson etc.

Howlin' Wolf- Blues From Hell CDx3
This compilation is a career retrospective consisting of 46 essential Howlin' Wolf tracks. Highlights include 'Smokestack Lightnin', 'I Asked For Water (She Gave Me Gasoline)', 'Moanin' At Midnight' and many more fan favourites. All tracks have been digitally remastered for optimum listening. 3CD set. Great career overview w/all yer faves: Spoonful, How Many More Years, Sitting On Top Of The World & more.

Drive By Truckers- Southern Rock Opera LPx2
    Back in stock.

    Beatles- With The Beatles LP
    Back in stock.

    Tool- Opiate LP
    Back in stock.

Gino Vanelli- Best & Beyond LPx2
Gino's classic tracks on a double LP.

Lee Fields- Let's Talk It Over LPx2
1979. Lee Fields re-imaged his career in recent years as a sweet-voiced R&B soul singer, complete with lush, orchestrated arrangements, and he's done pretty well at it. But back in the early 1970s, after a stint with Kool & the Gang, Fields released a series of hard-hitting, James Brown-influenced funk singles on assorted small labels, over-seeing all the arranging, production, and promotion on his own. He never really sought any kind of major-label deal, and his debut LP, 1979's Let's Talk It Over, was self-released, with distribution essentially amounting to Fields selling copies at shows and out of the trunk of his car as he navigated the bar tour circuit. Times change, and things change, and eventually copies of the LP became highly sought after by collectors, a kind of Holy Grail for funk fans, and a favorite sample set for the hip-hop era. This reissue finally brings Fields' lost gem into the digital world, adding in seven additional tracks that were released as independent singles. The end result is a treasure chest of funk and soul, with hard-hitting production and mega-tons of energy and verve. It's a wonderful resurrection for a lost gem in a new century, and proves once again that funk and soul never die.

Porcupine Tree- Fear Of A Blank Planet LPx2

Mad Villain- Mad Villainy 2 remixes LPx2
Madlib has never been one to respect convention. This much we know. After witnessing the epic undertaking of his "album per month" Medicine Show series, we were once again reminded. But back in 2008, he created one of his more respected forms of alleged musical sacrilege. In need of some headphone listening before a ten-hour plane ride to Tokyo, Madlib reworked his classic DOOM collaborative effort Madvillainy in its entirety. Previously available only with Stones Throw’s release of "Madvillainy 2: THE BOX" and a small lot of sought after white label pressings, "Madvillainy 2: The Madlib Remixes" is now being reissued properly on wax. Packaged in a full color jacket of the original CD artwork, the release includes Madlib’s remixes on two pieces of vinyl, comic book insert, and a digital download of the entire album.

Black Flag- Slip It In LP
    Back in stock.

Wo Fat- The Black Code LP
Taking their name from the arch villain in TV's popular Hawaii Five-O series, Wo Fat have clearly had their tongues planted firmly in cheek from day one. But that doesn't stop their fourth album, 2012's ominously named The Black Code, from wanting to put you in the ground! While the band's previous LP, the interestingly named Noche del Chupacabra, laid down the psychedelics pretty thickly, The Black Code seems bent on simply melting your face off -- at least based on first track "Lost Highway"'s devastating, stoner metal energy, which recalls such worthy predecessors as Orange Goblin, Red Giant, and the sadly doomed Unida. Hold your horses, though: Wo Fat won't be pigeonholed so easily. No, no. After the title track gets done alternating elephantine grooves and wah-wah pedal abuse over every speed in the gearbox, "Hurt at Gone" proceeds to hammer slithery slide guitars to Latin rhythms, "The Shard of Leng" flows from mystical Pink Floyd reveries into interstellar overdrive, and "Sleep of the Black Lotus" dives into endless, bong-fueled improvisations. Clearly, melting faces is not the sum total of Wo Fat's ambitions, after all, but the sheer aggression with which they tackle every one of these tunes, regardless of tempo or sonic ingredients, never lets the intensity waver. The Black Code roars with all the power that made '90s stoner rock so exciting and irresistible, and Wo Fat's growing confidence from album to album is living proof.

Dead Boys- Young Loud & Snotty LP
A 70's NYC punk time bomb! One of the greats on both colored & 180 gram vinyl.

Legendary Pink Dots- Seconds Late For The Brighton Line LPx2
Unlike most acts of their vintage, The LEGENDARY PINK DOTS look forward. After more than 25 years, they continue to make compelling new music that is demanded by fans and maintains the high level of quality that set their careers in motion. Led by singer/songwriter Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist/songwriter Phil "Silverman" Knight, the band continues to create their singular brand of modern psychedelia. Ka-Spel’s lyrics breathe with a sagacity and cleverness only found in rock's greatest writers. Their new album, 'Seconds Late For The Brighton Line' finds the band in familiar territory; pulsing Krautrock, dark and sinister pop and epic post-industrial soundscapes. The album invites the listener to put on headphones, close their eyes, and embark on a technicolor journey.

Eddie Cochran- Singin' To My Baby LP
140 gram LP. Singin’ To My Baby is Eddie 'Summertime Blues' Cochran’s first LP, originally released in 1958, just two years before he was tragically killed in a car accident (rockabilly king Gene Vincent was also in the car, but lived) at the age of 21, while touring the UK. Despite his early death, Cochran left a lasting mark on rock & roll history. The epitome of the fifties ‘rebel rocker,’ and also, as music journalist Bruce Eder so rightfully put it, "rock’s first high-energy guitar hero, the forerunner to Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman and, at least in terms of dexterity, Jimi Hendrix". His influence was felt on everyone from the Beatles, to Blue Cheer, to the Sex Pistols (who covered Cochran’s 'Something Else'). Although 'Summertime Blues' was his biggest hit, becoming an anthem for teen rebellion and disenchantment with the status quo, many of his songs were along this vein, making him a hero to generations of disgruntled teens.

ZZ Top- Rio Grande Mud LP
180 gram HQ vinyl. Their second album with killer tracks like Just Got Paid, Francene, and BBQ. This one's a keeper!

    ZZ Top- Deguello LP
180 gram HQ vinyl. Their fourth album, still loaded with strong songs like Cheap Sunglasses, I Thank You, & I'm Bad I'm Nationwide etc.

Quicksilver Messenger Service- Happy Trails LP
180 gram gatefold edition. QUICKSILVER's second album for Capitol in 1969, and to many their "piece de resistance". With John Cipollina's guitar to the fore, this classic album was a huge success. The album is essentially centered around the extended reworkings of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and "Mona", as well as the lesser lauded (yet no less intense) contribution of guitarist/vocalist Gary Duncan's "Calvary". This album was the last to feature the original quartet incarnation of QMS.

Black Sabbath- We Sold Our Souls For Rock & Roll LPx2
14 track compilation which covers the Ozzy years. Both regular black, and coloured vinyl versions are now here.

    Tame Impala- Lonerism LPx2
Uber popular new psyche/pop band from Australia. This is their latest album on double vinyl.

Thee Oh Sees- Carrion Crawler LP
Released in the fall of 2011. Crawling from the wreckage garage rock stomp with some inspired twin vocal outbursts. This album gets better every time you put it on.

Thee Oh Sees- Putrifiers II LP
Another fine album which came out last fall. It's hard to imagine how they can keep this up. Where does the inspiration come from? It's like aliens are beaming information to them to be translated into the fiercest, most expertly-executed Psychedelic garage fuzz ever created. It seemed like Carrion Crawler was their finest work to date, but with albums like this, I just don't know what to think anymore.

Thee Oh Sees- Dog Poison LP
REISSUED!!! The beloved Dog Poison full-length record by the prolific THEE OH SEES, and boy, is this one a monster. More layered and textural than previous Oh Sees releases while keeping all the typical JOHN DWYER punch, oomph and weirdness. Ten fantastic songs originally released by Captured Tracks in 2009. Includes a download for the first time.

    Billie Holiday- Lady Day LPx2
Signed to Decca in 1944 to record one of her biggest hits, "Lover Man", BILLIE HOLIDAY continued to record for the label throughout the 40's, finally gaining the musical respect she so richly deserved. That decade marked the height of her stardom, but also the beginning of her demise, fueled largely by her drug problems. This double vinyl release features 35 of her finest and best-loved tracks from this era.

Billie Holiday- Music For Torching With Billie Holiday LP+CD 180 gram LP + Free bonus CD of the album. 1955’s Music for Torching is an album of 'torch songs', meaning melancholic songs of unrequited love.. and no one does melancholy better than Billie Holiday, especially when she has musicians of the caliber of Benny 'King' Carter and Harry 'Sweets' Edison playing behind her. During the years leading up to her untimely death in 1959, Holiday was as big of a star as she’d ever been, playing to sold out audiences at Carnegie Hall, releasing her autobiography, and recording prolifically for Verve.
