Beck- I Just Started Hating Some People 7"
Brand new single from Beck, with help from Jack White.

Alabama Shakes- Be Mine 7"
Third Man is very excited to announce a new leg to their ongoing project of live shows and recordings for 2012, a live series of 7" singles that will be launched with none other than ALABAMA SHAKES from their performance at Third Man Records for Soundland Festival 2011. Alabama Shakes, of course, are that hot new rock and roll soul group that EVERYONE is digging. Putting old school music back on the map and into our homes. And this live 7" featuring "Be Mine" and "You Ain't Alone" are two slabs of high tension deep southern soul cuts the likes of which used to drip down the walls in Muscle Shoals, only live. At Third Man Records. Like all of Third Man's live releases, this analog recording was produced by Jack White III and mixed by Vance Powell.

Marduk- Serpent Sermon CD
MARDUK definitely is one of the most important and legendary black metal bands. With their 12th studio album "Serpent Sermon" the Swedish black metal tyrants are finally back.

Witchsorrow- God Curse Us CD
Brand new from UK doom band. "If bleakness is beauty then this album should be in a museum".

Wisdom In Chains- Missing Link CD
Modern old school hardcore.

July- S/T CD
Having started out as a skiffle act from Ealing and called The PlayboysÖ they then became an R&B combo, The Tomcats. John (Speedy) Keen (Thunderclap Newman) was in them for a while and then In 1966, The Tomcats went to Spain with a new line-up (one which become the future July one). As Los Tomcats, they got in the charts with four EPs, one of which was all in Spanish! They then returned to the UK in 1968, still basing themselves in Ealing and changed their name to July. As July, they recorded what later became one of the most sought-after British psychedelic sixties albums of all time. One that was originally released in the UK on Major Minor (MMLP/SMLP 29) in 1968 and also issued in USA/Canada on Epic (BN-26416) and even released in Brazil (Musidisc Hi Fi 2.177), .The albumís main appeal is its haunting brand of psychedelia and Rev-Ola are delighted to announce that this special CD issue has four bonus tracks. The gorgeous package is also enhanced by a quantity of previously unpublished photographs and some highly-informative CD booklet notes by 60s pop-sike expert David Wells. Tony Duhig (guitarist) and John Field (keyboards, flute) went on to be in Jade Warrior and Tom Newman later released solo albums on Virgin and Decca. He also set up Branson's Manor Studios and engineered 'Tubular Bells' I and II!

Farflung- The Raven That Ate The Moon CD
Killer space rock! Limited remastered and expanded reissue of the band's sophomore album on Flipside from 1996, with all new artwork.

Van Der Graaf Generator- Alt CD
ĎALTí is a new studio project by the legendary VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR and follows on from the release of 'A GROUNDING IN NUMBERS' in 2011. 'ALT' is no ordinary Van Der Graaf Generator album (if the term ďordinaryĒ could ever be applied to this visionary group). PETER HAMMILL explains; "Instrumental Improvs & Experiments - Most of the music on 'ALT' was made while we weren't really looking, or perhaps only while the left side of our collective brain was engaged. The album is a mixture of improvisations recorded at sound checks and in the studio and more considered sonic creations which often verge on Musique Concrete. The fourteen pieces here offer a fascinating glimpse into an alternative Van der Graaf Generator sound world. Perhaps the closest comparison would be with the second CD of "Present", but even the link with those recordings is tenuous. Even by Van der Graaf Generator standards, this stuff's at the wacky end of the scale!" This instrumental album is another side of Van Der Graaf Generator, a truly unique listening experience.

Volbeat- Guitars Gangsters & Cadillac Blood CD
Volbeat comes from Copenhagen, Denmark and was formed in October 2001 by Michael Poulsen. Their musical style can be described as a combination of Hard Hitting Metallic Rock 'N' Roll with a touch of '60s melodies and Elvis. The influence of their many spectacular live performances in 2007 is the base for their unavoidable breakthrough with their 2009 album Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood. Produced by Jacob Hansen, GG & CB is a smashing Rock album with many hooky and hard rockin' songs, all with the signature and unique Volbeat sound.

Piano Magic- Life Has Not Finished With Me CD
11th official album by Anglo-French popular underground oxymoron, Piano Magic. ĎLife Has Not Finished With Me Yet,í sees the group emerging from beneath the wreckage of previous guitar-heavy albums to re-investigate the darker, more electronic sonic themes of their earlier work. Instant parallels will inevitably be drawn with the ghostly chamber pop of 1999ís ĎArtists Riflesí and the even-earlier surreal romanticism of ĎLow Birth Weight.í At the core, once again, Glen Johnsonís unashamedly nihilistic ruminations on the human condition, though now shrouded in foggy analogue synth washes, pulsing heart beats, cathedral reverbs and Joe Meek-esque spectral vox. Indeed, this is an album of beautiful, indispensable baroque ghostliness, of disconnected hearts and oceans. Touchstones would be the new, airless beauty of Regis and Raim; the timeless gravitas of Dead Can Dance and the urban, though melodic isolationist output of late 70s/early 80s Factory Records.

Sugar- Copper Blue/Beaster CDx3
Copper Blue / Beaster 3-CD is a remastered deluxe edition of Sugarís quintessential debut album and companion EP, plus B-sides, a complete 1992 live show and 40-page booklet.

Sugar- Copper Blue CDx2+DVD
'Copper Blue' is the classic 1992 debut album by SUGAR. Frontman BOB MOULD had sung and played guitar for seminal midwest punks HŁsker DŁ, openly acknowledged by the likes of Nirvana and The Pixies as a huge influence. Following their break-up and two well-received solo albums, Sugar saw Bob return to a band set-up, signing to the iconic Creation label and scoring indie chart hits with "A Good Idea", "Changes", "Helpless" and "If I Can't Change Your Mind". The album's ebullient collection of richly melodic and anthemic songs saw Bob triumphantly reclaim an alternative rock legacy he had helped create. The album went in at number 10 in the UK album charts and was NME's 'Album Of The Year'. 20 years on, the album has been lovingly remastered from the original tapes, and is presented here in improved fidelity. This deluxe expanded edition includes all the non-album b-sides, a BBC radio session and a full length 1992 live concert. The concert, a favourite of Mould's, was recorded by Chicago college radio station WXRT and has been much bootlegged. This is the first legitimate release, with pristine sound quality, and features the only recorded versions of Sugar covering The Who's "Armenia City In The Sky" and Iggy Pop's "Dum Dum Boys". The DVD features all the promo videos from 'Copper Blue' alongside TV appearances from the BBC and MTV archives. The 32 page booklet contains rare photos, memorabilia, and exclusive new interviews that tell the story behind the album in the band's own words.

Earl Hooker- Two Bugs & A Roach LP "Though born in the Mississippi Delta, Earl Hooker's family moved to Chicago when he was just a baby and by the mid-'40s he was performing with one of the Early legends of Chicago blues, Robert Nighthawk. Hooker is perhaps best known for his distinct slide guitar style and as a sideman for such luminaries as Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, and John Lee Hooker (his cousin). In 1968, he assembled a crack band including Pinetop Perkins, and Freddie Roulette, and they're heard here in fine form on what is probably Hooker's most well-known and best recorded effort." Includes download card.

Burzum- Fallen LP
Limited 180 gram colored vinyl version. 'Fallen' is the 9th studio album from BURZUM, and follows the highly critically acclaimed 2010 release 'Belus', which put Burzum straight back at the at the top of the chain as of one of the most innovative and creative metal artists of our time. 'Fallen' follows 'Belus' in sound and structure, and can also be compared to the music on the groundbreaking 'Det Som Engang Var'. 'Fallen' is more dynamic and hard hitting then 'Belus' and has an even bigger sound, but still carries the same trademark melodic melody lines throughout that makes Burzum sound so iconic and unique. Burzum says of the new album "the sound is more dynamic - we mastered the album as if it was classical music and I was more experimental than I was on 'Belus' in all respects. Lyric wise it is similar to the debut album, in the way that it is more personal and focuses on existential issues, but the mythological undertone known from 'Belus' is still there. I have also included some ambient tracks, a short introduction, and a longer conclusion".

Burzum- Umskiptar LPx2
Double 180 gram colored vinyl pressing from the UK. Umskiptar', the 10th studio album from BURZUM. 'Umskiptar' follows the highly critically acclaimed releases 'Belus' (2010) and 'Fallen' (2011). 'Umskiptar' is not like any of the older Burzum albums, and yet similar to all of them. More than anything it has been inspired by scaldic poems and ancient folk music, and yet it is metal, but with Norse lyrics, this time all taken from the famous Scandinavian "Voluspa" poem. Burzum says: "hence I call the 'Umskiptar' album scaldic metal, and also naively hope with this to avoid having my music labelled 'Black Metal' anymore". 'Umskiptar' contains both traditional metal music and more experimental metal music, as well as a traditional Burzum introduction and conclusion.

Etta James- At Last LP+CD
180 gram vinyl edition (plus CD!) of ETTA JAMES' debut album, originally released in 1961 on Chess subsidiary label, Argo. The album's title track "At Last" and "All I Could Do Was Cry" (co-written by future Motown mogul Berry Gordy) both went to No. 2 on the R&B charts, while the album itself has gone down in history as one of the great classic albums of early R&B. The 4 bonus tracks are taken from two 1960 singles featuring doo-wop idol Harvey Fuqua of the Moonglows (best known for their 1955 hit "Sincerely").

Nine Inch Nails- The Slip LPx2
Back in stock on LP.

Mark Sultan- War On Rock 'n' Roll LP
LIMITED EDITION OF 500. Mark Sultan (a.k.a. BBQ) is a one-man band and one of the best crooners around. For this release, he declares war on rock ní roll music. Heís even written a manifesto thatís included with this release so you know exactly where heís coming from. The dudeís pissed. Who can blame him? War on Rock íní Roll is one continuous, 51-minute piece recorded in one take live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Itís a weirdo medley that includes many of his best songs, drum breakdowns, primal screams and guitar freak-outs. The album was pressed in an edition of 500 and all copies are on red-and-black splatter vinyl. The silk-screened record cover features totally badass artwork done exclusively for the release by Gary Panter.

Pearl Jam- 1992 Broadcasts LPx2
PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED ON VINYL. BROADCAST BY THE GRUNGE LEGENDS PERFORMING SONGS FROM THEIR LEGENDARY DEBUT ALBUM. Includes "Jeremy", "Alive" and many more. When Pearl Jam released their debut album Ten on 27th August 1991, it heralded a new era for alternative music in the US mainstream. Although it took almost 18 months for the record to reach its highest Billboard placing, ultimately peaking at number two, it ensured that Pearl Jam remained an unmistakable presence in the upper regions of the charts for the long term. The band toured extensively in support of the album, and on the 28th March 1992 they played the renowned Cabaret Metro in Chicago. The Metros fairly intimate surroundings helped to generate a dynamic atmosphere, as can be witnessed to full effect on this Release, as the band work through all but one of the songs from Ten. Five bonus cuts are also included from various television broadcasts made throughout 1992, including a delicious version of The Who's "Baba O'Riley". By the end of 1992, Pearl Jam were firmly established as rock royalty following Tens eventual massive success. Their performance at the Cabaret Metro however provides a near perfect insight into a band on the verge of global superstardom and displaying a confidence and ability that suggests they knew exactly where they are headed. FANTASTIC 180 GRAM RED VINYL RELEASE OF THIS COLLECTION OF BROADCASTS. 1000 ONLY LIMITED EDITION.

Monster Magnet- Super Judge LP
Dutch audiophile pressing of this great stoner/space rock album.

Rhett Miller- The Dreamer LP
The Dreamer is Millerís sixth solo record and represents the first time he has ever selfproduced. In the past, Millerís solo efforts were dramatically different from his work with the Old 97ís. While the bandís songs are often steeped in Americana and country, the solo records have always been decidedly more rock and pop affairs. That is until now, as The Dreamer finds the Texas-bred, New York-based singer/songwriter marrying his two worlds like never before. Says Miller, "I produced The Dreamer myself, a first for me, and had a very clear vision of what it should be -- an intimate, rootsy record that would bridge the gap between my work with the Old 97ís and the solo albums Iíve made in the past. The Dreamer is all about simple American songs and instrumentation. It was a blast to make."

Rush- ABC 1974 LPx2
Now on vinyl! The history of the ever mighty RUSH goes back to 1968 when the group first got together, but it was not until 1974 that Neal Peart joined Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Peart joined just two weeks before Rush's first US tour and it was during this American jaunt that the guys played the infamous Agora Ballroom, Cleveland - a venue at which the group would go on to play numerous more shows during their formative years. At their 1974 booking however, radio station WMMS radio was on hand to broadcast the whole event across the airwaves and thus make this particular gig a somewhat notorious event as well as being Rush's very first radio broadcast! Added are three tracks from another WMMS broadcast from the Agora Ballroom in 1975. Limited to 1000 copies.

Heads- Relaxing With The Heads LP
REISSUED ON VINYL!!! THE HEADS' debut album, first released in 1996. This reissue, remastered and boosted with extras, has been a long time coming. Amidst a world suffocating in Britpop smarm, The Heads' debut cut a timely swath of unkempt psychedelic rock into the face of the English underground. Featuring ten tracks of guitar-driven, amp-destroying jams, Relaxing With... takes its cues from the US--Stooges, MC5, Mudhoney, Pussy Galore, early Monster Magnet-but adds a distinctly British stamp with the drone and fuzz of Loop / Spacemen 3, the attitude of The Fall, Pink Fairies and Walking Seeds and the spaced rock of early Hawkwind. It is obvious that the four members of The Heads are music obsessives. Originally recorded at Foel Studios (owned by Dave Anderson from Hawkwind), it has been remastered by SHAWN JOSEPH and released on the band's own Rooster label. "If that's not a freakout, then I'm a Dutchman."-John Peel, after airing the first session. Edition of 1,000 copies with download. UK import.

Monks- Black Monk Time LPx2
One of the strangest stories in rock history, the Monks were formed in the early '60s by American G.I.s stationed in Germany. After their discharge, the group stayed on in Germany as the Torquays, a fairly standard beat band. After changing their name to the Monks in the mid-'60s, they also changed their music, attitude, and appearance radically. Gone were standard oldie covers, replaced by furious, minimalist original material that anticipated the blunt, harsh commentary of the punk era. Their insistent rhythms recalled martial beats and polkas as much as garage rock, and the weirdness quotient was heightened by electric banjo, berserk organ runs, and occasional bursts of feedback guitar. To prove that they meant business, the Monks shaved the top of their heads and performed their songs -- crude diatribes about the Vietnam war, dehumanized society, and love/hate affairs with girls -- in actual monks' clothing.

Beirut- Flying Club Cup LP
Back in stock.

DJ Food- Kaleidoscope CD
Excellent blend of beats/jazz/electronica. Recommended.

Otis Taylor- White African CD
Otis Taylor has a knack for interesting titles; Blue-Eyed Monster and When Negros Walked the Earth are among the CDs that the Denver bluesman recorded before White African. Taylor also has a knack for very dark and sobering themes -- this 2001 release, in fact, is full of them. On White African, Taylor's subject matter ranges from lynching in the Deep South ("Saint Martha Blues") to homelessness ("Hungry People") to being unable to afford health care for a sick, dying child ("3 Days and 3 Nights"). And Taylor doesn't try to sugarcoat his often disturbing lyrics with happy melodies. Greatly influenced by John Lee Hooker, the very soulful Taylor often favors moody, dusky, haunting grooves. So White African is as dark musically as it is lyrically. Over the years, dark humor has played a major role in the blues -- like country and hip-hop artists, bluesmen are known for finding a variety of humorous, clever ways to tell you how cruel and punishing life can be. But White African isn't dark humored; it's simply dark. This CD is also incredibly compelling, and it is enthusiastically recommended to those who don't expect lighthearted escapism from all of their music.
